I've been talking about this possibility for a while, but yesterday ClickHouse's Co-Founder and CEO finally confirmed the company's plans to go public:
“I know it's in vogue for companies to stay private longer, and I understand the reasons why they do it. They have this asymmetric advantage: access to large amounts of private capital, the ability to grow aggressively, and freedom from the constraints of being public.
I'm a bit more traditional in the sense that I believe when a technology company reaches a certain scale, with strong unit economics and predictable performance, it should go public. It's part of the deal we sign up for. At least, that's my view.
Of course, I'm biased. I've had two great experiences taking companies public: at Elastic, where I was an officer, and earlier at Salesforce, where I was a mid-level manager.
And so, that's the objective here.”
ClickHouse is probably the hottest AI startup on the planet right now. This could be HUGE.
